Roadstar's comment to this article:
It's mind blowing that the "people" not only let this corporate rape and pillage of society by the rich continue unabated but we put them on a pedestal and revere them! In Canada, even our own public TV pays Kevin O'Leary huge amounts of money (that he doesn't need, he's already rich) to implant the ruthless bully-driven capitalist message into our heads, even reverting to a "flash card" approach in a recent ad, flashing the word "capitalism" on the screen. It's disgusting.
But the people are not protesting against this! 1) They've got us so stupefied with tv and social media and 2) they perpetuate the myth that we can be rich like them (sociologically impossible). It's an irony that in the age where everyone's got a voice, our voice doesn't make a lick of difference. We can protest all we want (if we could take our eyes off the computer), but for naught, all we'll do is get fired from our jobs or worse called a socialist or tree-hugger. Then they blame welfare mothers for all of the problems, and keep us fighting amongst ourselves.
If you are one of the super rich...you are evil, you have to be, or your conscience would not allow you amass that much money at everyone else's expense. You're killing our world, with our blessing. One's thing's for sure...they've got all the money now (again with our blessing), and they ain't gonna give it back.
